Tipsy Tourist: The Magic Mojito

April 1, 2016

Today’s post comes from the Tipsy Tourist who travels all around the globe and always returns with the most fantastic cocktail recipes.  This cocktail comes from Los Angeles, but you can add a little local flair by using Privateer Rum made in Ipswich.

This recipe is based on the “Magic Mojito” from Bazaar in Los Angeles. Bazaar restaurant celebrates all things quirky and strange, so it’s no surprise that their signature cocktail is a unique twist on a classic. The Magic Mojito is sure to impress your guests, and is surprisingly easy to make. Perhaps the most difficult step is remembering to get your hands on some cotton candy ahead of time. Amazon has a huge variety, including this organic gourmet one, if you want to get fancy.

Majic Mojito

Cotton Candy (flavor of your choice)

6 sprigs mint

1 teaspoon granulated sugar

1 ounce fresh lime juice

2 ounces Privateer white rum

2 ounces club soda

Other tools

Cocktail Shaker

Break off a big piece of cotton candy and place in a martini glass and set aside.

Muddle mint, sugar, and lime juice in a shaker. Add rum and ice, and shake vigorously. Gently add in the club soda.

Now the fun part: Give each guest a chance to pour the mixture over the cotton candy in the glass, and watch as the cotton candy dissolve into a delicious cocktail

Thank you to the Tipsy Tourist, and happy weekend!
